Huuuhhhhh…ok…alright…I hate to have to admit it, but I did have some reservations when Christine first mentioned the whole play business. I was like, “Oh God, no, please let her just stick to music--what she knows.” I was more than a little concerned that it might be a serious distaster, especially when the venue turned out to be the Paramount Theatre. But as usual, and most thankfully, I was wrong! That crazy bitch really pulled it off, and big time!
I can’t really do a complete in depth review of the play, because I was a little trashed…you know—with my doing my share of helping to sell out the bar and all…lol…but the two things that really stood out for me was the natural flow and progression of the songs with the story and the amazing chemistry between Christine and CC Colletti—it really clicked, they really totally drew the entire audience into the show. My initial criticism was that it seemed too short, but when I thought about it, with it being only the sneak peak of the first act, it made me realize that I really wanted more.
The whole experience made me realize how proud I am of Christine and just what an amazing person she is—how courageous she is in following her heart and her dreams. Don’t get me wrong-- she really scares the shit out of me sometimes, but she, like no one else I have ever met, really puts the proverb of “Nothing ventured, nothing gained” into action. You go Girl! |
